5th Grade:
Attention 5th grade parents. 5th grade meeting will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 2:15pm
in Mrs. Anuar's room.
Please plan on attending this important meeting.
Please submit your 5th grader's baby photo by March 1st. You can submit electronically to Kim@griffinpta.org or send a 5x7 or smaller size in an envelope marked "5th grade baby photo." Photos will not be returned.
Wow! Can we really be in fifth grade already? Seems like yesterday we packed the bookbags and lunch boxes for their very first day of school. Now, we are staring at middle school but not before an exciting memorable year.
Traditionally the fifth grade year at Griffin Elementary is one that both the school and PTA work very hard to make especially exciting. The same is planned for this year.
In order to accomplish all that is planned, we need your help. Please check this page often to see a list of volunteer opportunities for fifth grade. They will be listed only on this page.
Our first fifth grade meeting was held on Wednesday, September 23rd and there was a fantastic turnout. We encourage all fifth grade parents who are available to come to the meetings. We want your input and your involvement!
If you cannot attend, don't worry. Copies of the minutes will be posted on this page. You are encouraged to contact Rose DeFalco with any questions or suggestions you may have.
About fund-raisers, fund-raising will done throughout the year to offset the cost of the following: T-shirts distributed the last week of school, 5th grade breakfast, Awards, Gameworks and snacks for the 5th grade trip. It is estimated that to provide the above for the entire fifth grade it will cost approx. $6,200.00 or $60.00 per child.
There was discussion about whether or not parents could pay up front, their child's $60.00, for the above listed items if they so desired.
For those not wanting to pay the lump sum, fundraising will help raise money towards the amount needed. However, it is important to note that if the $6200.00 cannot be raised some money will be needed to be collected at the end of the year to make up the difference (this will not apply to those who pay up front the $60.00).
We need input on this and whether or not this is an option parents want. Please email Rose DeFalco at rmdefalco@yahoo.com and let her know which you prefer.
